This year at the Beacon Hotel in Butler County, they will be holding a  haunted 15-acre corn maze and tractor ride / haunted house. No-Scare family days will also be held for the little ones on select Sundays during the days. Food and beverages will be available on site as well. It is a 1/2-mile in length featuring an enclosed waiting area. Be sure to try your hand at several spooky games before venturing down the haunted trail. The attraction is centered around the legend of Fred McCune, who lived on the property over a century ago, and endured tragedy in 1863.

Drive through our giant movie screen and watch your favorite horror movie monsters come to life in their natural habitat as we recreate their most famous scenes. It’s a unique haunt experience unlike any other and fun for all ages. The Glow, a Jack O’Lantern Experience (now known as Jack’s Pumpkin Glow)  set up shop in 2018 in Hartwood Acres Park in Hampton Township, site of the former Christmas Light display several years ago.

Tri County ATV Fall Festival / Haunted Rides

Guests can save up to $5 off standard gate price by buying tickets at local Giant Eagle stores, or qualify for 50 percent off select dates by purchasing a 2020 Season Pass. College students can also get half-off tickets on select nights by presenting their school ID. The Shadows in Tarentum has been around since at least 2012…  There is no website anymore, but they do post on Facebook. Other than that, not much info to go on, it looks like a classic haunted attraction and has become a tradition in the Tarentum and Allegheny Valley area. Get ready to be immersed in a world where Halloween magic comes to life.

The zombie compound is back better than ever for 2023, including FunHouse 3D. Each year, the haunted house attractions in the area seem to open earlier and earlier in the season. Many are opening in September and stretching through the first week of November. As the attractions become more sophisticated and complex, they are extending the season. September is a great time to head out since the weather is warmer, but if you prefer the chill of the October night air, there are even more options for you. Prices, dates, times, entertainment, and/or experience details are subject to availability, changes and/or cancellation without notice.

There are now 5 attractions since The Lift failed to rise again this year. It had been a “legacy and staple” in Hundred Acres Manor history! Other long-gone haunts from the past include Torture Tank, Deadlift, Damnation, Brine Slaughterhouse & FearScapes Factory. There is also a “not so scary” wagon ride for the younger kids.

Be ready for over 100 monsters of all types to greet you along the way! The maze is not haunted, so it is appropriate for kids of all ages as well as adults. The stage also provides a mix of high-energy music throughout the night, and several special events including magic shows and “HHE Idol”, a singing competition, on select nights. While trick-or-treating will certainly look different, you can still get nearly scared to death at a haunted house from the safety of your own vehicle. Organizers all over the country have been hard at work transitioning their annual haunted house experiences from a walkthrough scare-fest to a drive-thru experience. Head out to Idlewild for some daylight fun for the kids this fall!

Wagons and strollers are now discouraged, due to their likelihood of getting stuck along the trail. With deference to the real-life scariness of the coronavirus pandemic, the Horrorland is being billed as South Florida’s first drive-thru, touchless haunted-house attraction. It features seven different roads with immersive scenes, including Alice in Horrorland, Christmas Nightmare, Creepy Carnival, Zombie Apocalypse, Farm of Horrors, Asylum of Darkness and Scream’s Cemetery. Oaks Park and Clark County ScareGrounds have worked together to create the ultimate drive-thru in Portland.

Known for it’s grand special effects, Castle Blood is sure to please as Pittsburgh’s Most Unusual Haunted Attraction. The MacCabre Family actually lived on site at the old location, and are known to stay in character year round – they even hosted their own late night TV show, The Midnight Monster Hop. Read the entire legend of the Castle at their website. Each fall the Hopewell Windmill miniature golf course transforms into a haunted Halloween attraction…  Seasonal music, inflatables and various gory and not-so-gory decorations line the course.

And those haunters will be back, at Big Wave Express Carwash, over several select October nights this autumn. That code is OUTTHERE23 and can be entered when purchasing tickets. A new haunted house had been planned for the Switchback Raceway in Butler back in 2014, but things did not come together as planned. It was planned to be the largest in Pennsylvania, situated inside a 45,000 sf building, the size of a football field. The website is down, and this one never seemed to get off of the ground.

The event sold out last year, so peruse tickets pronto — prices start at $30 per car — as well as October dates at the Haunted Car Wash's site. Just remember there are now two locations, so decide if you're getting your car-based creep-outs in Anaheim or Lakewood. Look to the "Tunnel of Terror," a frightful fall favorite in Anaheim, which has displayed a devious knack for turning the squeaky to eeky thanks to a horde of creative haunters.

They also feature not-so-scary hayrides and a kids area with arts and crafts / pumpkin picking. The Beaver County Humane Society’s Beastly Haunted Trail is located on the shelter grounds and all proceeds benefit the shelter. Beware as you traverse the dark trail; it promises many scares and scary scenes, with a great attention to detail. “Come see what new horrors lurk in the twisting paths of the Beaver County’s ultimate haunted trail! Looking for a socially distanced Halloween haunt that’s just as scary as a regular haunted house? Scarizona Scaregrounds, one of Arizona’s most popular Halloween attractions, is hosting their first-ever drive-thru haunted house this year.

Tickets can be purchased online, with reservations booked in advance for a timed-entry slot. The show is open daily through October 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. A $10 'party pack' is also available, including light-up sticks, bracelets, light-up necklaces, and more. ScareHouse left its longtime location in Etna back in 2018 and set up shop temporarily in the Strip District. In 2020, they moved to their permanent location in the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills, along Route 28. There are more extensive and detailed sets at this new location.

The park has also lengthened its existing trails in recent years, The Burial Grounds, Deadwoods, and Sin Creek. Rounding off the experience is Stalker Hollow Cornfield, the park’s uphill Corn Maze, which has doubled in size in recent years. Visitors can expect to encounter witches of the Deadwoods that have been banished here as they find their way through a dizzying, massive cornstalk path.

But not everything seasonal has been put on hold, for "Urban Legends of Southern California," an in-car experience, will set up spine-tingling shop at the OC Fair & Event Center from Oct. 1 through Nov. 1, 2020. Water has a way of shrouding chilling figures, in short, at least in the phantom-filled fiction we do adore. But we never really think of the H2O found around a classic roll-through car wash, the kind of water that emits from scrubbers and nozzles, as the sort of misty veil that can hide scary characters. Please avoid obscene, vulgar, lewd, racist or sexually-oriented language.PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK.Don't Threaten. Threats of harming anotherperson will not be tolerated.Be Truthful. Don't knowingly lie about anyoneor anything.Be Nice.

No word on lights out dates… they must not be doing these this year. Katie Lawrence is a Southeast Texas native who graduated 18th in her high school class with a GPA of 4.25. She attended college in the Houston area and began writing for OnlyInYourState in 2015. Today, Katie writes, edits, and performs several other tasks for OnlyInYourState and has never been more passionate about a job before. Outside of work, you can likely find her curled up on with a hot cup of coffee, practicing yoga, baking, or exploring the beautiful Lone Star State (in particular, the vast and mystical West Texas desert). Tickets cost $38.99, $48.99, $58.99 or $68.99 (on Halloween) per car and must be purchased online before entering Horrorland.

In prior years, shared fire pits would be open to the public at no extra charge. Also, a Saturday / Sunday Matinee Pumpkin Patch Playland would be held for the younger kids on the three weekends prior to Halloween. In the past they have had special events and attractions such as a kids costume contest,  Zombie Night and Guys and Ghouls Night. They have also featured the Pumpkin Catapult off and on through the years. There is no mention of any of these on the website. Phantom Fright Nights tickets are now on sale at Kennywood.com.
